Position Title: Youth & Family Ministry Leader
Position Summary
The Youth & Family Ministry Leader is responsible for developing, leading, and growing a Christ-centered ministry that engages children (pre-K-5th grade), youth (grades 6–12) and supports families in their spiritual formation. This individual will create a welcoming environment where youth and families can build authentic relationships, deepen their faith, serve others, and become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ.
The ideal candidate is passionate about youth ministry, skilled in relationship-building, and committed to partnering with parents and church leadership to nurture the next generation of believers.

Position: Youth and Family Ministry Leader
Accountable To: Senior Pastor
The Youth and Family Ministry Leader will report to the Senior Pastor and provide a monthly written report to the Board of Elders. And will receive a periodic reviews. Performance will be evaluated based on observable outcomes in the following areas…

Alignment with the mission and ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Purpose: The goal of the Youth and Family Ministry Leader is to expose youth and family to God’s love and word, to connect them to other Christians, to help them grow in their faith, and to challenge them to cheerfully serve and honor God with their lives.
The Youth and Family Ministry Leader, under the supervision of the Senior Pastor, is responsible for assessing the current state of the youth and family program, then coordinating and leading programs for children (PreK-5th Grade), youth (6th-12th Grade), and families; and coordinating nursery age services. Primary focus on youth, with some responsibilities in other age groups.

To exemplify the Christian faith and life, to function in an atmosphere of love and order characteristic of the Body of Christ at work, and to lead others toward Christian maturity.
To teach faithfully the Word of God.
To exemplify Christian discipleship and witness, to live in Christian unity with members of the congregation and coworkers, and to earnestly seek the advancement of the kingdom of God at home and abroad.
Assess current youth and family ministry programming, develop needed programming in alignment with Trinity Mission, implement and oversee all youth and family programming, in doing so will…
Create a consistent and relationally focused program.
Provide avenues for faith development and growth.
Find and utilize a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate.
Cultivate meaningful relationships with youth and families.
Communicate effectively utilizing social media.
Encourage (parent/guardian) involvement and resourcing.
Work to recruit and train volunteers, overseeing background checks.
Continue to advance professionally.
Regularly meet with the Administrative staff.
Participate in worship planning.
Plan and lead youth mission trips.
Coordinate family fellowship events.
Develop and support small group ministry opportunities.
Substitute teach religion course at Trinity Church and School.
Participate in Teacher Devotions/Bible Studies.
Participate in Trinity Lutheran School Chapel services.
Attending youth activities within the community on a regular basis.

Job Specifications:
1. This is a full-time salaried position.
2. Will regularly attend Trinity Lutheran church.
3. LCMS member required or willing to become a member.
4. Need to pass a background check.
Qualifications:
Required
Member of an LCMS congregation or willing to become one.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers.
Ability to work evenings and weekends as ministry activities require.
Possess a Valid Driver’s License
Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Able to recognize, understand, and support LCMS doctrine.
Preferred
Experience leading youth, family, or educational programs.
Experience teaching and developing curriculum for multiple age groups.
Degree in ministry, theology, education, counseling, or a related field.
Previous experience in church ministry leadership.
Experience planning retreats, camps, and outreach events.
Knowledge of youth development and family ministry best practices.
Regularly attend church services at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Must be willing to or obtain Basic Life Support/First Aid skills/certificate
Physical Requirements: One needs to have the physical and emotional stamina required for fulfilling these job duties.
Compensation and benefits
Salaried position $42,000 to $48,600 pending experience (funded through July 2029, but reviewed annually
